Călinești (Hungarian: Felsőkálinfalva or Felsőkálinfalu, Yiddish: קאלינשט, romanized: Kalinest) is a commune in Maramureș County, Maramureș, Romania. It is composed of three villages: Călinești, Cornești (Hungarian: Somosfalva), and Văleni (Hungarian: Mikolapatak, Yiddish: וואלען, romanized: Valeny).

At the 2002 census, 99.8% of the 3,410 inhabitants were Romanians; 53.9% were Romanian Orthodox, 34.7% Greek-Catholic, 5.9% belonged to "another religion", and 4.5% were Pentecostal. At the 2021 census, Călinești had a population of 3,049; of those, 93.77% were Romanians.[2]
