Burghart Klaußner (born 13 September 1949) is a German film actor.[1] He received acting training at the Max-Reinhardt-Schule für Schauspiel [de] in Berlin.[2]

Klaußner had engagements at Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, Hamburger Kammerspiele and at the theaters in Cologne, Hamburg, Zürich, Bremen and Bochum. In Hamburg 2006, Klaußner also made his debut as a theater director.[3] He has appeared in more than 90 films and television shows since 1983. He has also narrated many audiobooks, including Ian McEwan's Solar, and several Ferdinand von Schirach novels.

He is a member of the Deutsche Filmakademie[4] and vice-president of the Freie Akademie der Künste in Hamburg since 2021.[5][6]
