BUG FILMS Inc. (株式会社バグフィルム, Kabushiki-gaisha Bagu Firumu) is a Japanese animation studio established on September 22, 2021 as a subsidiary of Twin Engine.

History

[edit]

Bug Films was established in September 2021 by Hiroaki Kojima, a producer working at OLM at the time, producing the anime MIX, Major 2nd, and Bungo and Alchemist -Gears of Judgement- for the studio.[2] Most of the studio's staff are former members of his production arm at OLM.

During the first year of the studio's life, Kojima and his staff fulfilled prior obligations at OLM, producing the anime series Komi Can't Communicate and Summer Time Rendering, both series that Bug Films was given cooperation credits for on occasion.

Kojima explained that he founded the studio in order to "create work worthy of the viewer." The studio's founding also contributes to Twin Engine's long-term goal of "strengthening its production pipeline in an effort to achieve global expansion."[3]
