Buffy Sainte-Marie: Carry It On is a 2022 Canadian documentary film, directed by Madison Thomas.[1] The film is a portrait of the life and career of musician and activist Buffy Sainte-Marie, based in part on Andrea Warner's 2018 biography.[2]
The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2022.[1]
The film was honoured with the DGC Allan King Award for Best Documentary Film at the 2022 Directors Guild of Canada awards.[3]
The film was awarded the 2023 Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction of a Documentary and Best Sound on a Documentary.
In November 2023, the film was awarded an International Emmy Award for Best Arts Programming.[4]
