It opened in September 2014 as Elutec (East London University Technical College) and changed its name in September 2023. Pupils from Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Thurrock attend the UTC.
History
[edit]Elutec opened in September 2014 as a university technical college.[1] It was initially located within the CEME campus[2] and moved to London East Business and Technical Park in 2015.[3]
It changed its name to Brook Sixth Form and Academy in September 2023, to "fit in" with the Eastbrook Studios film studio complex opening adjacent to it.[4]
Sponsors
[edit]Elutec has three major sponsors: Ford Motor Company, the multi-national car manufacturer, University College London (UCL) and CEME, the research, skills and business campus.
Campus
[edit]Facilities include a manufacturing line, robotics centre and hydraulic/pneumatic training suite.
Standards
[edit]A 2019 Ofsted report found that the school "requires improvement".[5]
