Breaking the News is a 2023 American documentary film, directed and produced by Heather Courtney, Princess A. Hairston and Chelsea Hernandez. It follows the launch of The 19th, an independent news organization founded by Emily Ramshaw and Amanda Zamora.
The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, 2023, and is scheduled to be released on February 19, 2024, by Independent Lens.

Release
[edit]The film had its world premiere at the Tribeca Festival on June 8, 2023.[2][3] It also screened at DC/DOX on June 17, 2023.[4][5] and the Montclair Film Festival on October 22, 2023.[6] It is scheduled to be released on February 19, 2024, by Independent Lens.[7]
Reception
