History

[edit]

It is believed here that in the Satyug, Lord Balram came here in the guise of a sadhu. At that time, the cattle of the people had suffered a lot due to a serious illness.[3] The people here went to Balram Ji with a sad heart and told him their sorrow, then Lord Balbhadra Ji told them the solution and also blessed them, with his blessings all the animals got well. The whole village became full of milk and butter.[4][5]

After some time, when Balram Ji told the people there that he was leaving that place and going towards Shri Kedar Nath. People requested him not to leave from here, then Balram Ji agreed and decided to stay at this place.[6] He explained that now he will stay here in the form of an idol and told that in Kaliyug he will be worshipped in the form of an idol in the name of 'Bhadraaj'.[7][8]

According to folklore, in the Kaliyug period, a person named 'Nandu Mehar' had established his establishment.[9] A hut has been built here in the name of Nandu Mehar which is still famous by the name of "Satyonthat".[10]
