[edit]Born in Fiesole, Ghiglia graduated in composition and piano from the Florence Conservatory.[2] He then started an activity as a chamber musician, both as solo and in couple with cellist Pietro Grossi.[2]
Since the early 1950s Ghiglia focused his career on composing film scores, often working in the documentary genre.[2][3] In 1976 he formed the stage company "Teatro-Canzone" with his wife Adriana Martino.[2] He also composed incidental music for all the stage plays by Mario Missiroli.[2] Between 1980 and 1985 he was vice-president of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma.[2]
