The Battle of Sakilkilo (Indonesia:Pertempuran Kampung Sakilkilo) was an military clashes between Kopassus and Gurkha. The battle resulted in an Indonesia victory and heavy casualties to the British.
Background
[edit]On 1963 when Indonesia attacked Long Jawai they succeeded in killing many British soldiers and captured 12 British soldiers before they were countered by Gurkhas. In 1964 the Indonesian forces launched the attacks or clashes in Sabah.[1]
Battles
[edit]On 10 July 1964, the Kopassus with the TNKU volunteers fought battles in the Sakilkilo village, Sabah. The Kopassus managed to defeat Gurkha and succeeded in killing 20 soldiers. They captured 34 Gurkha forces who marched through Kapuas, Sambas.[2][3]
