[edit]

The Sicilian-Norman fleet of 150 ships appeared before Ceuta. Abou al-Fadl Ayad ibn Mousa, governor of the city, decided to go out to meet them, and mobilized all the ships Ceuta had at its disposal. The naval battle caused many deaths on both sides.[1] The Moroccans ended up repelling the Norman fleet.[2]
