The Battle of Buddu was a battle between the Kingdom of Buganda and the Nyoro people of the Nyoro Kingdom in Buddu.

Background

[edit]

Jjunju had been increasingly interested in conquering Buddu. He wanted control over its natural recourses and wanted to annex it for Buganda. He also wanted to legitimize his rule by conquering neighboring cities and states to Buganda during the competition between him and Semakookiro.[1]

Battle

[edit]

Jjuju arrived in Buddu and quickly defeated Nyoro advancing forces. The city was then overrun and annexed by Jjunju after he consolidated power in the region.[2]
