Balkampet Yellamma temple is a Hindu goddess temple located at Balkampet in Hyderabad. The statue of the goddess Yellamma, believed to be svayambhu, is located below ground level. Every year in Ashadamasam 1st week of Tuesday kalyanotsavam is conducted by Temple authorities and on the immediate day Ammavari radhayatra will take places with great positive energy. This Temple is very famous for Bonaalu which take place every Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday. These are the peak days for visits to the temple by devotees and for offering Bonaalu. This is the only places where "Bonam" will be offered around-the-clock.

The Yellama Ammavaru is visible on "Rock solid" which is located under the water. Currently, the Ammavaru is made of gold covering the exact area. The water is thought by believers to have help in treating various viral diseases.[1] Ammavaru is thought by believers to help them avoid various problems in life. You can see "Akhanda Jyothi" which is glowing continuously. Also, the Yellamma goddess keep her eyes open protecting all devotees from various evils.

Apart from Yellamma Goddess there are also Pochamma Goddess, Naga devatha, Ganesh vigraham inside temple, 20 feet Ammavaru on the temple premises is great attraction. There is also Yellama devastanam complex which has rooms to perform Bonum.

Around Yellamma Temple there are various other temples, such as Nalla Pochamma temple (Near B.K Guda Park), Mahankali temple, Gadi Maisamma temple, Sona bai Temple (Ameerpet), Katta Maisamma Temple (Begumpet), Ganesh Temple (adjacent lane to Balkampet Petrol Bunk). Balkampet, Ameerpet, Begumpet places form "Golden Triangle" of Hyderabad and secunderabad Twin cities. Yellama Temple is in between this golden triangle protecting the twin cities.

Yellamma Kalyanam: Every year during Ashada Masam 1st week of Tuesday Kalyanotsavam is conducted by Temple authorities and on the immediate day "Ammavari Radhayatra" takes place, covering areas across Balkampet, S.R Nagar, and B.k guda. During Ashadamasa Kalyanam devotees come from various states, such as Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Devotees arrive two days ahead to participate in Kalyanotsavam. Yellamma ammavaru have devotees around the world in various countries like USA, UK, Canada, UAE, Africa, Australia, Newzeland, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan, Russia, Nepal, Bhutan. Malasya and Singapore.

Founder Family members: "Kothapally" is the surname of the family who founded Yellamma temple. The family belongs to Goud's community. The founder family members currently reside in Balkampet, B.K Guda. They were the then "Patwaris" under the Nizam government. They were also the freedom fighters of the Sultanate of Golconda.
