Back for More is a song by the South Korean boy band Tomorrow X Together and Brazilian singer-songwriter Anitta.[1][2] The song was released on September 15, 2023. Written by Ryan Tedder, Slow Rabbit, and Tyler Spry, the track was launched under the Big Hit Music and Republic Records labels.[3][4]

Background and release

[edit]

On September 4, 2023, it was announced that Tomorrow X Together would release a collaborative single with Anitta, titled "Back for More", as a pre-release track.[5][6] The song was officially released on September 15, 2023.[7][8]

Music and lyrics

[edit]

"Back for More" is a K-pop track, characterized by an engaging bassline and funk influences.[9][10] The lyrics explore the idea that, even in the everyday routine, magical and miraculous moments exist, with the reunion with a loved one being that special moment. Unlike Tomorrow X Together's previous disco songs, which featured a lively and vibrant atmosphere, this track stands out for its more sensual charm.[11][12][13]

Live performances and accolades

[edit]

The first live performance of "Back for More" took place at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, just a few days before the song's official release.[14][15] Additionally, the song was used as the opening theme for the Italian show Il Cittadino Cerca Moglie.

The song was nominated in two categories at the 2023 Asian Pop Music Awards (Overseas) in China:

Year Award ceremony Category Resultado Ref.
2023 "Asian Pop Music Awards" Best Collaboration [Jury] Nominated [16]
Best Producer [Jury] Nominated

Commercial performance

[edit]

"Back For More" debuted at number 26 on the Circle Chart.[17] On the Billboard Brasil Hot 100, the track debuted at No. 41, marking a significant achievement as the first song by a K-Pop group to enter the Brazilian charts.[18] In the United States, "Back For More" debuted at number 11 on the Billboard Under Hot 100[19]
