Azam al-Sadat Farahi (Persian: اعظمالسادات فراحی) (born c. 1958) is an Iranian teacher[1] who is married to former Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.[2] They married in 1980 and have three children.[2]
Farahi is a graduate of Iran University of Science and Technology where she obtained a degree in mechanical engineering.[2]
Farahi was never seen campaigning for her husband,[3] however she has made rare public appearances including giving a speech in 2009 forum of wives of heads of state at the Rome headquarters of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization.[4]
