Avdiky

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Avdiky (Russian: Авди́кий) is an old and uncommon[1] Russian Christian male first name.[2] Its colloquial variants are Adiky (Ади́кий)[1] and Avda (А́вда).[2] It is possibly[1] derived from the Latin word abdico, meaning to denounce, to relinquish,[3] or to deny.[1]

The diminutives of "Avdiky" are Avdya (А́вдя), Avdyusha (Авдю́ша), and Adya (А́дя).[1]

The patronymics derived from "Avdiky" are "Авди́киевич" (Avdikiyevich) and "Авди́кьевич" (Avdikyevich; both masculine), and "Авди́киевна" (Avdikiyevna) and "Авди́кьевна" (Avdikyevna; both feminine).[1]
