Aselle Tasmagambetova (born October 27, 1979) is the daughter of former Kazakh Prime Minister Imangali Tasmagambetov. She has been married for two decades to Kenes Rakishev, a investor and entrepreneur born in Almaty (Kazakhstan). [1][2]

She runs the Saby Foundation and is a well-known speaker on environmental issues, as well as the head of the Central-Asian Institute of Environmental Research.

Career

Born October 27, 1979, she is the eldest daughter of the Kazakh politician Imangali Tasmagambetov and school teacher Klara Bekkulova. She graduated from Kazakh State Law University with degree in Jurispridence in 1999, then graduated from International Independent University of Environmental and Politology in Moscow with degree in Management of the environment and natural resources in 2009.[3]

She has taught environmental law in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.[3] In 2012 she established Central Asian Institute for Ecological Research.[3] In 2019 she created the Center for Research and Rehabilitation of Caspian seal in Aktau city.[4][5][6] She runs a charity, the "Saby" Private Charity Foundation.[7][8][3][9][10]

In 2020, with Rakishev, she founded the Shoqan Walikhanov School, named after Shoqan Walikhanov, a nineteenth-century Kazakh explorer and scholar.

Founded as a non-profit, it is said to combine traditional academic methods with modern infrastructure and contemporary teaching techniques. It accommodates 1,300 students.
