Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, born on July 29, 1970, in Le Plessis-Trévise (Val-de-Marne), is a French radio and television presenter.

Early life

[edit]

Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine comes from a family of seven children. She is the daughter of Jean-Pierre Lemoine, a senior civil servant, and Brigitte Lemoine, a Treasury inspector.[1]

After studying in hypokhâgne and khâgne (preparatory classes for elite schools), she earned a master's degree in history. Her research thesis was supervised by Pascal Ory. She then attended CELSA (School of Advanced Studies in Information and Communication Sciences) at the Sorbonne, where she graduated.[2]

Career

[edit]

From 2000 to 2006, she participated in the show On ne peut pas plaire à tout le monde (You Can't Please Everyone) by Marc-Olivier Fogiel on France 3. She also worked with him in 2005 on Vous écoutez la télé on France Inter and was the only team member to follow him to the creation of On ne pouvait pas le rater on RTL. At the same time, she was a columnist for J'ai mes sources on France Inter, hosted by Colombe Schneck. In the fall of 2006, she followed Fogiel to M6 to work on T'empêches tout le monde de dormir. In radio, she left RTL and France Inter to host Elle se mêle de tout on France Info, alternating with Hélène Lam Trong, succeeding Marion Ruggieri. On television, she co-hosted the political show 5 ans avec..., dedicated to the presidential election, with Estelle Denis on M6. In September 2007, she joined Canal+ as a columnist on L'Édition spéciale, a show presented by Samuel Étienne, and later Bruce Toussaint.[3]

From September 2011, she became part of the team for La Nouvelle Édition, hosted by Ali Baddouf, which succeeded L'Édition spéciale at noon. She was in charge of the media segment of the show.[4]

In September 2014, after seven years with Canal+, she left the channel to become a columnist and the official stand-in for Anne-Sophie Lapix on C à vous on France 5.[5]

In September 2016, while continuing to participate in C à vous, she briefly hosted a new Saturday evening talk show at 7 PM, C l'hebdo, a weekend version of C à vous.[6]

In September 2017, she succeeded Anne-Sophie Lapix as the host of C à vous, as Lapix moved to France 2 to anchor the 8 PM news. Since taking over, her show has frequently set audience records, often exceeding 2 million viewers, and averages around 1.4 million viewers (7.3% audience share). It became one of the highest-rated shows on France 5 during the COVID-19 pandemic and the national lockdown.

On October 15, 2019, she co-hosted a major environmental program, L'émission pour la Terre, with Nagui on France 2.

From October 21 to December 15, 2020, she hosted 6 à la maison, a cultural magazine, with Patrick Cohen, airing in the late evening on France 2 during the COVID-19 curfew. The show returned on January 27, 2021.[7]

On February 2, 2021, when Anne-Sophie Lapix tested positive for COVID-19, Lemoine hosted Le Grand Échiquier on France 2. She officially became the presenter of the show a few days later, as Lapix stepped down to focus on the upcoming 2022 French presidential election.[8] However, Lemoine left the show after only two episodes to focus on C à vous, which was extended in the fall season. Claire Chazal was chosen to take over Le Grand Échiquier.[9]

Personal life

[edit]

Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine is the mother of two boys: Arthur, born in 2004, and Vasco, born on June 13, 2013.[10]

In 2007, she was in a relationship with comedian Mustapha El Atrassi. She later filed a complaint against him for assault and battery.[11][12]
