Anna Garcia (born 1995)[1] is an American comedian and actress. She has acted in the television series Superstore, Hacks, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Party Down, and Very Important People. Her breakout role was in the Greg Berlanti film Fly Me to the Moon.[2]
Life and career
[edit]Garcia was born and raised in Beverly Hills, Michigan. She began acting at age six and performed in productions at Marquis Theater in Northville.[3] She also appeared in local commercials. After graduating high school from Groves High School,[1] she attended University of Michigan and majored in screen arts and culture.[1] As a student she was active in the improv group Midnight Book Club.[1]
She moved to Los Angeles after graduation to pursue acting professionally.[1] With fellow comedienne Gabrielle DeCaro, she wrote and starred in the YouTube series The Pembrook Brothers.[4] Eventually she booked acting roles on the series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Bunk'd, Superstore, Hacks, and Party Down.[3][4]
She began to focus on creating TikTok videos after the Covid-19 pandemic, and grew her following to approximately 200,000 people.[1] Garcia also appears on Dropout series including Very Important People and Make Some Noise.[5][6]
Garcia's feature film debut was Fly Me to the Moon (2024) starring Scarlett Johansson. She portrays Ruby, and was the last role in the film to be cast after a chemistry read with Johansson.[4][3]
