Angut District (Persian: بخش انگوت) is a former administrative division of Germi County, Ardabil province, Iran. Its capital was the city of Tazeh Kand-e Angut.[a]

History

In September 2019, Pain Barzand Rural District was separated from the district to join the Central District. The remainder of Angut District was separated from the county in the establishment of Ungut County.[3]

Population

At the time of the 2006 census, the district's population was 27,494 in 5,626 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 25,694 people in 6,295 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the district as 22,892 inhabitants living in 6,549 households.[2]
