Al-Kabir Polytechnic is a technical polytechnic institute in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India. It is located in Purulia Road in Jamshedpur. The college was opened in the year of 1990. It is approved by the Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi since 2000 and is recognized from the All India Council for Technical Education, Delhi. It is one of the top polytechnic technical institutes in the state.
It is run by the Kabir Welfare Trust, Jamshedpur. The college offers three years duration qualifications in Diploma in Engineering which totally follows the pattern as per the government and public organization. It is the first private technical institute in Jharkhand. The college is also providing great placements. It provides Diploma courses in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, automobile engineering, electronics & communication engineering, computer science engineering etc.

History
[edit]Al Kabir Polytechnic was opened in Jamshedpur by Haji Abdul Hakim in the year of 1990 and was affiliated to the then State Board of Technical Education, Bihar. Then it get recognition from the All India Council for Technical Education. In the year 2000, the college celebrated its 10th anniversary. Also in the same year the polytechnic was affiliated to the Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi in 2000. After 1995 the college gained wide popularity. Since then it is a top polytechnic college in the state.
Admission
[edit]The eligibility required for admission for Diploma in this college is 10th pass from any of the recognized board with minimum of 35% or passing marks and must have passed in the entrance exam — Jharkhand Combined Entrance Examination Board. The admission for 10th pass students can also be done on based of management quota. For lateral entry in Diploma's 2nd year, the candidate must have passed the 12th examination from any recognized board with science stream. Or else have done a one year technical course or I. T. I in a trade in order to qualify for getting enrolment in that particular branch.
Campus
[edit]The campus of the polytechnic college is spread across an area of 10 acres in an Urban campus located near to the main accessibility of Purulia Road. It has well equipped laboratories and classrooms. For computer science and engineering, there is a smart room enabling the features and concepts of idea of an IT infrastructure
