Ahmet Duman is a Turkish freestyle wrestler competing in the 61 kg division. He is a member of Ankara ASKI. He won the silver medal at the 2024 World Wrestling Championships.[1]

Career

In 2019, he won the silver medal in the men's 57 kg event at the 2019 European Juniors Wrestling Championships held in Pontevedra, Spain. Ahmet Duman, who competed in the final of the 2019 European Junior Wrestling Championships at 57 kg in Pontevedra, Spain, lost 9-7 to his Russian opponent Nachyn Mongush in the match in which he closed the first period 6-4 ahead and won the silver medal. Ahmet Duman, who defeated his Polish opponent Adam Wiezner with 10-0 technical superiority in the first round, defeated German Niklas Stechele 11-0 in the quarter final with technical superiority and reached the semi-final. He defeated Ukrainian Kerim Kerymov 8-5 in the semi final and met Russian Nachyn Mongush in the final.[2]

He won the silver medal at the 2024 World Wrestling Championships in Tirana, Albania, losing 10-0 to Japanese Masanosuke Ono in the men's freestyle 61 kg final match. Ahmet Duman defeated Costa Rican Peter Hammer 10-0 in the first round, Azerbaijani Nuraddin Novruzov 14-4 with technical superiority in the second round, Costa Rican Joey Silva 5-2 in the quarterfinal and Mongolian Tseveensürengiin Tsogbadrakh 3-1 in the semi final to reach the final.[3][4]
