Afrineh (Persian: افرينه)[a] is a village in Afrineh Rural District of Afrineh District, Mamulan County, Lorestan province, Iran, serving as capital of both the district[4] and the rural district.[5]

Population

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 2,185 in 460 households, when it was in the former Mamulan District of Pol-e Dokhtar County.[6] The following census in 2011 counted 1,986 people in 517 households.[7] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,944 people in 555 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]

In April 2023, the district was separated from the county in the establishment of Mamulan County, and the rural district was transferred to the new Afrineh District.[4]
