The Abel Hyatt House is a historic house in rural Swain County, North Carolina. It is located about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Bryson City, 300 yards (270 m) east of Highway 74, on the banks of the Tuckasegee River. The two-story brick I-house was built in 1880 by Abel Hyatt, a farmer, and is the only known 19th-century masonry house in the county. It is a fine example of vernacular Greek Revival style.[2]
The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.[1]
