On November 3rd, 2024, a grenade attack occurred at the Sunday market near the Tourist Reception Centre in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, injuring 12 civilians. The attack took place around 2:10 PM IST when suspected militants threw a hand grenade at a security picket, causing the explosion to injure nearby shoppers [1].

Reactions

Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary and other local leaders also visited the injured at the hospital, expressing their support and condemning the attack as a cowardly act meant to instill fear in the population [5].
