Background

[edit]

The by-election for Bagidora, happened due to the resignation of its sitting member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). This by-election (bypoll) happened along with the 2024 Indian general election. The bypolls in rest of the constituencies (barring Ramgarh and Salumber), happened due to their MLAs being elected to the Lok Sabha. The by-election to these 9 seats happened on 13 November and the results were declared on 23 November.
