2024 Manchester Airport incident

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On July 23, 2024, four men were arrested on suspicion of assault, assault of an emergency worker and affray following a violent altercation at Manchester Airport in the United Kingdom. Two of the men were also arrested on suspicion of obstructing police.

Footage of the incident, showing one of the men breaking the nose of a police officer and a police officer kicking one of the men in the head, went viral and sparked widespread outrage on social media.[1]

As of November 2024, the suspects are out on bail while Greater Manchester Police continue their investigation.[2]

In October 2024, right-wing political party Reform UK threatened legal action against two of the men involved in the incident if the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to charge them.[3]
