The 2024–25 season of Dallas Trinity FC is the team's inaugural season as a professional women's soccer team and as well as the first for the USL Super League (USLS), one of two leagues to be in the top tier of women's soccer in the United States .[ 1] In November 2024, Copa Tejas announced that as a Division I team Dallas Trinity FC would be included in the Copa Tejas Shield beginning in 2025. Because of the USL Super League fall to spring schedule the entire 2024-25 season standings will be used for the 2025 Shield.[ 2]
On May 16, 2023, it was announced by the USL that Dallas was selected as 1 of 8 markets to gain a team. It would later be confirmed that the United States Soccer Federation would officially sanction the league as Division 1, giving Dallas its first professional women's soccer team.[ 3] [ 4]
In May 2024, the club announced there that they would play their home games at the historic Cotton Bowl and that their home season opener would be on September 7, 2024 against DC Power FC .[ 5] [ 6]
Adding to the excitement, Dallas brought in several players who are either from the DFW Metroplex or played college soccer in the Metroplex including: Hailey Davidson , Haley Berg , Allie Thornton , Gracie Brian , Cyera Hintzen , Enzi Broussard Chioma Ubogagu , Madison White , Jenna Winebrenner , Samantha Meza and Samantha Estrada .[ 7] [ 8]
On July 26, 2024, the club announced they would play a friendly against FC Barcelona Femini as part of the team's US Tour on August 30, 2024.[ 9]
