American college football season
The 2023 Northern Illinois Huskies football team represented Northern Illinois University as a member of the West Division of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) during the 2023 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Huskies are led by fifth-year head coach Thomas Hammock and played their home games at Huskie Stadium in DeKalb, Illinois.[1][2] They finished the regular season 6–6 and 5–3 in conference play[3] They played Arkansas State in the Camellia Bowl, who they beat 21–19.[4]
On July 20, the MAC announced the preseason coaches poll. Northern Illinois was picked to finish third in the West.[5]
