2024 SoCon tournament winner

The 2023–24 East Tennessee State Buccaneers women's basketball team represented East Tennessee State University during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Buccaneers, who were led by second-year head coach Brenda Mock Brown, played their home games at Brooks Gymnasium in Johnson City, Tennessee as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon). They finished the season 18–12, 7–7 in SoCon play, to finish in fifth place.[1]

Previous season

The Buccaneers finished the 2022–23 season 26–10, 9–5 in SoCon play, to finish in a tie for second place.[2] They defeated Samford in the quarterfinals of the SoCon tournament,[3] before falling to eventual tournament champions Chattanooga in the semifinals.[4] They received an invitation to the WBI,[5] where they defeated FIU in the first round[6] and lost to New Mexico State in the semifinals,[7] before defeating Georgia Southern in the third-place game.[8]
