Led by first-year head coach Darrell Asberry , the Tigers compiled an overall record of 2–9 with a mark of 2–7 in conference play, placing fourth in the SWAC's West Division.[ 1] Texas Southern played home games at a new stadium, BBVA Compass Stadium , in Houston .[ 2]
