Later Metalist was disqualified from the 2013–14 UEFA Champions League and that season's European competitions, because of this match.[6] In August 2010, Serghei Lașcencov was given a lifetime ban from football for his involvement in fixing the match. On 17 October 2010, his ban was reduced to five years, a decision that was upheld by CAS in August 2013.[7][8]
