The 1981 U.S. Women's Indoor Championships was a women's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts at the Met Center in Bloomington, Minnesota in the United States that was part of the Category 4 tier of the Toyota Series which was incorporated into the 1981 WTA Tour. It was the 73rd edition of the tournament and was held from September 28 through October 4, 1981. Second-seeded Martina Navratilova won the singles title and collect $22,000 first-prize money. Her victory ended Tracy Austin 28-match win streak.[2][1][3][4]
