The 1978 Drake Bulldogs football team was an American football team that represented Drake University as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference during the 1978 NCAA Division I-A football season. In their second year under head coach Chuck Shelton, the team compiled a 4–7 record (3–3 in the MVC).
