The 1781 Massachusetts gubernatorial election was held on April 2, 1781 to elect the governor of Massachusetts. It was the second gubernatorial election following the adoption of the Massachusetts Constitution. John Hancock was re-elected to a second term, defeating James Bowdoin and a scattering of other candidates.
