Question about "Item" code
[edit]Hi, I hope this is the right place and someone's watching! I was looking at the list of redlinks and one of the columns was listed under "Item" consisting of Q followed by a bunch of numbers. What should I do with this code? Is it useful? I figure it must be but I'm not hot on the technical side of wikipedia. Jdcooper (talk) 17:55, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Jdcooper that number relates to the Wikidata entry for the person/thing. If there is a number without a name, it simply means that no one has provided an English translation of the name. Don't click on the red link until it is fixed. The easiest way to fix it is to go to the Wikidata entry, press edit, type in the name in English, and save it. A bot will come along and make the update to the list. Does that help? SusunW (talk) 19:48, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- SusunW I'm not sure I understand, no! So there was a name, in Czech (which we normally use for English articles about them), I created the article, and it seems fine. Is that ok? Do I have to do anything else? Or anything with the number? Jdcooper (talk) 20:41, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Jdcooper That number is how you link the article on Czech WP to the article on any other language WP. On the left side of your screen, under tools is a box that says languages, edit links. Just make sure they are linked using that number. Or you can just give me the article name and number so I can link them for youSusunW (talk) 20:57, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
- Ah ok I get you. The articles appear to have found each other. Thanks! Jdcooper (talk) 21:40, 1 May 2018 (UTC)

Canadian artists of eastern European origin
[edit]So I ran across this list while researching other things, and I thought it might be helpful for this project: Canadian artists of eastern European origin. I didn’t check to see if we had articles yet on these. NotARabbit (talk) 00:30, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
