"Local" definition

[edit]

Are we limited to the city we were born in? Or can we do the country as well? For me, I'm from Canada and we already had a month of Canada before at WIR ;) --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 21:10, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think the idea is to take advantage of folks being off work or traveling at the holidays, to visit local historical sites and libraries for resources they might not otherwise access. I'm counting my current town and surroundings (the South Bay of Los Angeles) as "local" for me, but if I find someone I want to write about from my hometown, I'll probably count that too. I might also use this editathon to visit some of the Los Angeles cemeteries where some of my recent article subjects have gravesites. (Angelus-Rosedale Cemetery and Inglewood Park Cemetery are on my list.) Penny Richards (talk) 21:25, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm using the term loosely to mean within 50 miles (80 km) of anywhere I've lived. Joseph2302 (talk) 09:28, 2 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
