Brilliant Idea
[edit]Well, the title sort of spells it out...but, for the sake of overstating the obvious, Brilliant Idea!

How much support do we need to apporve for the collaboration?
[edit]- I think maybe 3? Any other suggestions? --HamedogTalk|@ 06:45, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- 3 sounds good. When the group gets larger we can always change the voting system. Forever young 23:23, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
- I too agree that 3 is just right. --Siva1979Talk to me 06:36, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
New COTF
[edit]Since this is kind of quiet now, I'm going to go ahead and make the RWC the COTF - it has four votes, whereas the Boston Irish has two. The rugby union article has been the COTF for like ages anyway. So I shall change it. Cvene64 01:44, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- And it is done. Cvene64 02:11, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
Recent edits
[edit]I made a few changes to the layout and so on, I added # to peoples comments and broke them up into support and comments. Hope thats cool. Cvene64 06:03, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- It looks great to me as well. --Siva1979Talk to me 06:36, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
Currently, one of the nominees for the Wikipedia:New Zealand Collaboration of the Fortnight is Rugby union in New Zealand. A joint collaboration task prehaps? --Midnighttonight 05:26, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
- That would be a great idea. When (if) RU in NZ gains status at the NZ COTF, then it should not be too much trouble to see the RU COTF focuses on that at the same time. Cvene64 13:21, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- Then start stacking the votes for it. It should be (based on the current voting pattern) the NZ collab from the 4th of June for a fortnight. --Midnighttonight 01:41, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I just nominated it, and I'm sure people will by happy to (if it gets the votes, can't see why it won't) start it on June 4. The structure here is flexible as its not a huge project yet. Cvene64 01:21, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
Should be selecting a new collab soon
[edit]Anyone want to nominate something? I have some ideas. Keep in mind, I'am trying to be very general here. I feel these articles, could, with a collaboration, be a lot better...
- William Webb Ellis
- South Africa national rugby union team
- Six Nations Championship
- Top League
- Ligue Nationale de Rugby
- International Rugby Board
- Super 10 (Italian premiership)
- Twickenham Stadium
- Currie Cup
Whats everyone elses ideas? Cvene64 13:33, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
Perhaps The Women's Rugby World Cup? I started the page a while ago and recently wrote a history section and a few other bits.
Or maybe Rugby World Cup hosts?
Arguss 20:41, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- WRWC sounds good to me. It would be great to get the article up a a very good quality before the WC kicks off in a few months. Cvene64 04:39, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- I humbly suggest the IRB or the 6 Nations competition articles for the new collaboration. It should be noted that I have an unhealthy, extremely POV personal bias against womens rugby (honestly, has anyone ever seen it? Ten year old schoolboys playing for their House's second team could defeat any women's national team...) hoopydinkConas tá tú? 06:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well, we will let voting decide I guess. Arguss can nominate WRWC or RWC hosts and you can nominate the Six Nations or the IRB. Cvene64 01:27, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

- I would like to nominate the North America 4 tournament. It was previously mentioned to nominate one particular club team in the US to raise interest in North America, however this tournament features two teams from the US and Canada respectively which is composed of the best domestic players available. The IRB is pumping a lot of money into it, with the hopes of bringing professional rugby to North America. Anyone?Am rockstar 22:25, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
- Great suggestion Am. Please nominate it on the main page, and I will definantly vote for it, and Im sure others will. The IRB has been the collab. for a number of weeks now, and is now at a very decent standard, so I think it is time to change it. So yes, please nominate NA4, the article could very much benefit from a coolab. Cheers.Cvene64 11:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

- What about a player, maybe Rupeni Caucaunibuca ? Narrasawa 07:01, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Frank Hadden collaboration
[edit]Frank Hadden has three supports as per collaboration criteria. I'll be changing him to current collaboration soon unless I get a good reason to wait. - Shudda talk 23:56, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- WikiProject Rugby union's collaboration of the fortnight is now Frank Hadden. Please get editing! - Shudda talk 23:00, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
New Collaboration
[edit]I think we need a new collaboration of the Fortnight becase Brian O' Driscoll has been there for more that a month and I was thinking about maybe Jonah Lomu.--Cometstyles 02:50, 3 March 2007 (UTC)
- Hello I said we need a new Colloboration...--Cometstyles 18:00, 10 March 2007 (UTC)
France national rugby union team
[edit]Following moved from main page by me:
- Hi, the FR version of France national rugby union team has just been nominated "Article de Qualité", meaning "Featured Article", there is more content than in the present EN version. My proposal is to improve the text in English, using/translating some parts of the FR text, I could help in the translation (someone will have to check my english), maybe others could do that too Dingy 04:39, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Go ahead. I'll tidy up afterwards.GordyB 09:45, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. - Shudda talk 23:42, 26 March 2007 (UTC)
- part on Current squad already changed, notable players will be next (based on the French text) Dingy 03:00, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
This has to be the longest fortnight ever! PeeJay 21:08, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- Let's have another collaboration then.GordyB 22:12, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- These collaborations always go on longer then a fortnight, but a nominee has enough votes it can be the new one. - Shudda talk 00:55, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Votes of support neccesary
[edit]Is three votes enough to make a nomination the new collaboration? Maybe four or five would be better? - Shudda talk 23:06, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
Revival for 2014
[edit]I'm wondering if it is worth trying to revive this collaboration for 2014. New Year's resolution anyone? My idea is that it is monthly (rather than fortnightly), and will aim for Good Article standard rather than featured standard. I think Rugby union positions would make an ideal candidate first up. Any feedback? Is this idea good, or a waste of time? -- Shudde talk 08:25, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
Correction
[edit]Great idea! And if one finds a mistake what can he do?
I did find one re: 1966-67 FIRA Nations Cup (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966%E2%80%9367_FIRA_Nations_Cup)
The game Portugal-France XV was not played at the University Stadium it was played at Estádio da Tapadinha (Tapadinha Stadium) This game was the fist time in my life I watched an international rugby game..
The Tapadinha Stadium is the home of soccer team Atlético Clube de Portugal (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Est%C3%A1dio_da_Tapadinha) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrrcabral (talk • contribs) 13:46, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
