Western European Union
[edit]I observe WEU is of High Interest to this project, and from the gross inaccuracies on the rewrite of the page, in dire need of some knowledgable support.
I joined the Organisation as HQ Accountant in the move to Brussels in 1993, and as the only member of the section with military and economic experience, rapidly became double-hatted as the Crisis Finance specialist. The last Secretary General, Arnaud Jacomet, sadly passed away soon after WEU closed, and the Head of Registry, technically archiving the documentation, wasn't in function during the Operational era 1993-2001. As Accountant (and ultimately Head of Finance) it was my responsibility to report on all activity from a use-of-funds angle, and so I think I may be of some use in guiding you.
I'm in close contact with the National Archives at Kew, in a different competence which none the less allows me at cross the Chinese Wall into WEU's archives which are there, at least somewhat. As a result of the security issue, which is persistent because my past activities remain relevant in the current Ukrainian embroglio (and presumably for at least thirty years hence, by which time I'll either be dead or completely incompetent), I'm reluctant to identify myself, but to establish bona fides, would refer you to Rory Stewart, Fellow at Yale University's Jackson Institute for Global Affairs where he teaches politics and international relations - he knows me well, from the Savile Club circle, as Dana's chum around 5 years back. I've picked that data because it identifies me very precisely without compromising anything, and how you contact him is entirely of your discretion, to reassure you this is no scam.
To contact me, my email is rahere@mail.com, just as a heads-up so we can talk on the record here. You will appreciate I don't know you from Adam, so will treat you as unvetted, unless you can offer me equivalent assurances.
Two other Wikipedia Projects and whoever "owns" the page should also be offered the same courtesy, please, although in the latter case I am somewhat prejudiced for the reasons cited in my NPOV objection on the talk page. They should have jumped on it immediately, or worse, if they're actually responsible for the posting themselves, then I'm afraid I must challenge any reliability accreditation. It is not my intention to engage in disruptive behaviour, but at the same time would seek ajudication from someone fully informed and involved, who by definition would know me as I paid their salary! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.68.80.209 (talk) 02:00, 17 March 2022 (UTC)
