Needs
[edit]If you're going to add to the nominations for locations, Please submit your suggestions' to the end of the list (so the numbers don't change), and indicate your favorite. Preferrably we'd want a place that's:
- amiable to our being there
- not too loud
- able to sell us refreshments
- not insistant that we buy much more than one drink per person
- able to accomodate all ages that may wish to attend
- open late, as not everyone will be able to arrive on time
- somewhat accessible by public transit
- easy to find plenty of free parking for
- able to seat a large group together (not in a bunch of separate booths)
WiFi
[edit]For needs, you might add WiFi access. BlankVerse ∅ 28 June 2005 04:51 (UTC)
- I did not want to limit us to venues that offered Internet access, since this is not meant to be a silent "laptop party", but a social occasion. Where it would be nice, of course, to have access to the Wiki at the meeting, I would consider it a "nicety" more than a "need". WikiHolics [1] that NEED 24/7 access should invest in a cellular ISP. - It turned out on accident that Philippe's had WiFi for meetup 1, and it was useful to be able to refer to the wiki for reference and discussion purposes. I agree with Eric in principle though. So maybe there shouldn't really be more than one laptop around...if there's only one, then at least people are social in trying to figure out how to share it. :) The entire group can be let in on "what's going on with the laptop" and which discussion point it is being used to investigate.
