Proposal to add a section about article structure
[edit]I propose that a section on article structure be added to the project page. This would be similar to the structure on Wikipedia:WikiProject Fire Service.
The suggested structure would be:
Structure
[edit]EMS articles should be structured largely along the following guidelines:
- Infobox - Any article about a specific EMS service should use the infobox ambulance company template.
- History - A brief history of the service.
- Stations and apparatus/vehicles - This should be in table format and cited as much as possible.
- Only active stations should be included. Closed or future stations are not applicable (violates WP:NOTSTATSBOOK).
- Whenever possible the city or neighborhood of stations should be used rather than just their address.
- Notable incidents - Notable incidents are ones that have their own page on Wikipedia. If no such page exists, the incident doesn't qualify as notable.
- Popular culture - Notable depictions of the department in movies and television.
What NOT to include
[edit]Do not include the following on an EMS article (Wikipedia is not a stats book nor is it a memorial):
- A list of fallen EMS workers is not notable UNLESS they were killed in an otherwise notable incident, in which case the names of the fallen should be included on the page for the notable incident.
- A list of apparatus/vehicle specifications.
- There is no need to detail the make and model of every apparatus or vehicle in a service's fleet.
Thank you for your input. Magnolia677 (talk) 14:24, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
Request for information on WP1.0 web tool
[edit]Hello and greetings from the maintainers of the WP 1.0 Bot! As you may or may not know, we are currently involved in an overhaul of the bot, in order to make it more modern and maintainable. As part of this process, we will be rewriting the web tool that is part of the project. You might have noticed this tool if you click through the links on the project assessment summary tables.
We'd like to collect information on how the current tool is used by....you! How do you yourself and the other maintainers of your project use the web tool? Which of its features do you need? How frequently do you use these features? And what features is the tool missing that would be useful to you? We have collected all of these questions at this Google form where you can leave your response. Walkerma (talk) 04:24, 27 October 2019 (UTC)
Journal of Paramedic Practice
[edit]Hello all, Could I have some help with a draft. The Journal of Paramedic Practice draft is being knocked back for lacking notability, I think the issue is its a sub-specialty journal and therefore lacks the wider impact that a general/acute medicine journal has for example. Would welcome advice and inout in making this a better draft and reaching publication of it. Tannim101 (talk) 22:23, 12 April 2021 (UTC)
South Central ambulance Service
[edit]I have posted a question on Talk:South Central Ambulance Service, asking whether the article South Central Ambulance Service correctly defines the geographical area SCAS serves. I would be grateful to anyone who can provide and verify the correct answer. Thankyou, Motacilla (talk) 23:06, 9 November 2021 (UTC)
Escape Chair
[edit]The escape chair was mentioned as a talk subject, this was posted by in 2014. What, if any, changes have been made and what would this mean for the US healthcare system as far as assisting patients with evacuations?Breedbr8131 (talk) 17:00, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
