Votes for high importance episodes...
Let's say everyone picks 5 episodes... whatever you think are the most important / funniest / best / most influential episodes... no real qualifications, we'll just tally the results when the time comes... take the 5 highest voted, and make them high importance instead of the blanket mid on all the other episodes...
This round, you pick five out of a list of nominees. These episodes all received at least one vote in the previous round of voting. If the episode you picked isn't there, then add it, but ONLY do it if you voted for it in the previous round. Otherwise, using nominees would be pointless.
Please note that Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire has already been classed as high importance and thus is not included here.

- While I think the entire concept of designating episodes as high importance without a justifiable reason (just because they are popular or funniest) is silly, as I think either few if any episodes are "important" or there are tons of episodes that have "significance" for various reasons; Nevertheless, I will point out several important episodes:
- Who Shot Mr Burns? - the first, and I think, only(?) cliffhanger ep which was a major media event
- Krusty Gets Busted - establishes Krusty and Sideshow bob - two important recurring universe elements and episode genres
- The Way We Was - the first flashback ep, one of the first "unique" format episodes, and the origin of homer and marge
- Bart Gets Famous - one of the first major self-referencing episodes from a plot perspective.
But there are many more and for many more reasons TheHYPO 07:32, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Margical History Tour - A great 3 part with some facts
- Girls Just Want to Have Sums - This episode was just great
- The Crepes of Wrath - One of the first season episodes and memorable
- I am Furious Yellow - Hilarious episode
- Behind the Laughter - Excellent "Behind the Scenes" tour

- From this selection?
There are more that should be included as well, Homer's Phobia, The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show. Gran2 07:39, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I can't do that without people saying that it's ust my favourite episodes. I needed a guideline, and following it meant several of my favourites (Homer: Badman) and others favourites would be left out.
- Marge vs. the Monorail
- Cape Feare
- Last Exit to Springfield
- Homer's Enemy
- Deep Space Homer -- Scorpion 07:43, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
- Who Shot Mr Burns?-one of the most famous episodes.
- Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment
- The Way We Was-Famous flashback episode.
- Homer's Enemy
- Trash of the Titans-one of my favorite episodes. It won an Emmy

I'd just like to chime in again and ask what the basis is for this vote? It seriously needs some parameters or guidelines. I don't think wikipedia is out there to take an informal poll of a dozen or two project members on what was the funniest episode and declare those episodes as more important than others; For a random example from this list: Margical History Tour - One of a large pile now of 3-story episodes; nothing unique (various historical stories told with Simpsons characters); no contribution to either in-universe or real-world Simpsons history... I don't understand how most of these episodes could ever be classified as more important than 90% of other Simpsons episodes; on the other hand, almost every episode of the first and second season introduce important universe elements and many have notable real-world significance in terms of production, ratings, tv scheduling, etc. and it would be hard to rate any of those as more significant than any other of those... If it's going to be 'most important' episodes, I think there should be some discussion as to what 'important' means - and 'most funny' should definately NOT be one of the parameters. - The original criteria was to just pick your favourites and many users complied. And in this second round, I just followed the criteria layed down in the first one. I agree that some of the choices are confusing, but I figured that this voting thing should be completed. -- Scorpion 00:26, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- I'll vote for The Seemingly Never-Ending Story, because of the good plot in which many things are happening in a lot of things which makes it a bit confusing. Also liked it because this was the first episode i saw with Snake's son and introduces of a lot of people's backgrounds a bit. The last four will be
- Who Shot Mr Burns?a bit weird bit still a good spisode.
- Girls Just Want to Have Sums for the great episode about Toilet asking Ralph for his lunch money and he complies.
- Bart Star this episode was like one of the few where you see the Flander kids doing activities. Particulary the part where Homer says who is cut over the credits.
- Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment i just liked it

I'll chip in with mine...
- 22 Short Films About Springfield for the allusion and the interestingness
- Homer vs. Lisa and the 8th Commandment for just a good, well built story
- El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer) which shows how a cartoon can step beyond what one might ever expect from a cartoon
- Two Dozen and One Greyhounds because 'Be my vest' is my favouite song
- I'd like to include Homer at the Bat for its excellent use of guest voices, and Bart Sells His Soul just because it's weirdly interesting, but I appreciate they're not on the nominees list
That's my bits --Mortice 22:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
--- Simpsons Roasting on an Open fire The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson Trash of the Titans Who Shot Mr Burns?
Can't think of another important one.--Andy mci 20:49, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

Just one comment: Treehouse of Horror episodes should NOT be incl here for the simple fact that they are in a class all their own! A vote on the best TOH ep I can see, but not lumped in here.
- Last Exit to Springfield - My absolute favorite ep!
- Cape Feare - Ditto.
Ones that were inexplicably ignored on this list of noms (I was too late in discovering this WikiProj so I hope I'm not offending too many by breaking etiquette here):
Tommyt 14:49, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Who Shot Mr Burns? - Important Episode, First of Two Parts.
- El Viaje Misterioso de Nuestro Jomer (The Mysterious Voyage of Homer) - Also Very Important. Shows How The Simpsons Can Never be the same.
- Homer vs. The Eighteenth Amendment - The Importance of alcohol
- Trash of the Titans - 200th Episode. Don't Forget the Song.
- Homer's Enemy - Reality in The Simpsons.
I Agree With Tommyt That Treehouse of Horror Episodes Should not Be Included. Also These Episodes are Ones I Think Are Important NOT My Favourite Episodes.
