Template for Creating Info Box with Image
[edit]Cut and paste this example from the edit page here - replace the placeholder text with info for your scientist and a photo file from Wikimedia Commons, and you're good to go. (Having the birthdate means it will calculate age automatically.)
An example of what these info boxes look like is here: Linda Buck
Be careful that you don't leave any of the filler explanatory text there (the words in all capital letters). Always add "alternative image text" - that will show in rollover text and for people who use machines to read (e.g. because of visual impairment). It should be a short caption explaining the image.
The template is everything from here to the end of this section:
NAME | |
---|---|
ALTERNATE IMAGE TEXT SUCH AS PHOTO OF X | |
Born | FULL BIRTH NAME 30 January 1950 |
Alma mater | |
Known for |
|
Scientific career | |
Fields |

Thesis | TITLE OF PHD THESIS IF AVAILABLE (DELETE LINE IF NOT USED) (YEAR OF PHD THESIS (IF AVAILABLE)) |
