Of the 14 corporations that comprise the line of succession culminating in the carrier as at present constituted, four corporations, the Atlantic and Gulf Short Line Railroad Company; Douglas, Augusta & Gulf Railway Company; The Valdosta Southern Railway Company (second corporation); and The Valdosta Southern Railway Company (first corporation), did not construct any road or other common-carrier property.
