This is Toby.

Sometimes, we see things we don't like to see. Sometimes, we really don't like to see them. Sometimes, we don't want other people to see them. Sometimes we just wish we could make them all go away.

Well, we can't all have everything we want.

Some of us want to be able to see everything -- and some of us want to be able to see everything everywhere.

It's probably a bad idea to say that a picture is a bad thing. Maybe the picture is a bad thing, but if we start by saying one picture is bad, then soon we will want to say another picture is bad. Before you know it, we will start to fight about more and more pictures. We can't all agree which pictures are bad and which are not bad. Besides, everyone has different reasons for saying something is bad. It's a mess.

Toby is here to help with all this. If you see Toby, you know he is watching. You will not see anything anybody does not want you to see.

If you see something you don't think your friends should ever see, just put Toby there. Don't say anything more, because we don't want to start a fight. Just tell Toby. It's enough.

A simple demo of Toby (or a demo of Simple Toby) is now available at User:Xiong/tobydemo. The sample potentially questionable content is pretty much low-risk, being images of posters from the Cultural Revolution and so forth. (Low risk, that is, unless you live in China in the year 1977.)
