But it usually applies to all the characters in the fictions concerned: in this instance only Ian and Barbara have apparently not aged, while all others – including other Companions – have and do. (Timelord regenerations obviously don't count.) In the context of the Doctor Who Universe, this remains for the moment an unexplained mystery, only mentioned this once, which potentially could be explained in the future if the script writers ever choose to do so. I myself can, on the spur of the moment, think of two potential explanations plausible in the context of the series.
