Wikipedia:Minchin's Law

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:MINCHIN)

Minchin's Law is the central law of so-called complementary and alternative medicine (SCAM).[1][2][3]

It was originally stated by Australian humourist Tim Minchin as follows:

"By definition", I begin
"Alternative Medicine", I continue
"Has either not been proved to work,
Or been proved not to work.
You know what they call "alternative medicine"
That’s been proved to work?
Medicine."

— Tim Minchin, Storm[4]

Thus, any alternative medical treatment is presumptively bogus.
