Tag & Assess 2008 has concluded! Thanks to everyone who assessed articles for it!
By way of introduction, WikiProject Anime and manga has about 7,500 stub and start articles. The main purpose of this drive is two-fold:
- to ensure that they are within our scope;
- and to ensure that they are correctly assessed for class.
- Notes for first-timers
Participants start by adopting a range of 200 articles (see worklists below). You then work through the range, tagging and assessing. Each range is broken down into bite sized chunks of ten articles each, so it's easy to keep track of where you are. At first, it will take about a minute to check each article but, with a bit of practice, people get much faster than that.
If you have any queries about scope, class or task forces, please raise them on the assessment talk page
The rewards
As a token of our appreciation for your efforts, we will be presenting barnstars based on the number of articles you work through. The drive coordinators will administer awards and by default will post them on your talk page within a few days of the end of the drive. To add a bit of friendly competition, the three editors who tag and assess the most articles will be awarded bronze, silver and gold wikis. If you'd like yours earlier, please ask one of the drive coordinators.
Instructions
For each article:
- Read the article. Then:
- Check that it's within WikiProject Anime and manga's scope.
- Check that the class is correctly assessed.
- Add missing workgroup parameters.
- Mark articles that require critical cleanup for urgent attention by setting
|attention=yes
. - Mark articles that should be followed up for merging by setting
|merge=yes
.
New! NB: Tag or assess redirects with|class=Redirect
.
- Completed ranges
- After completing each 10-article range, either strike through the article name (with "<s>" and "</s>") or add "Done, ~~~~" at the foot of the section.
- Scope questions
- Assessment help
- For general assessment help, see general assessment FAQ.
- For the formal Stub, Start-class and B-Class criteria, see the project's assessment guidelines.
- Set
|class=C
if an article is C-Class. Set|class=B
if and only if an article meets the majority of the B-Class criteria. - The template accepts B-Class short forms –
|B1=y
,|B2=n
etc. Please set add and set these parameters for all C-class and B-class articles. - If all six B-class parameters are not "Yes", the template automatically sets "class=C".
- Sample workgroup parameters
- Biography workgroup:
|biography-work-group=yes
or|bwg=yes
- Conventions workgroup:
|conventions-work-group=yes
- Sample parameter strings

- Merger required:

Participants
Please add your name below, in alphabetical order, using the {{User0|"Your name"}} template. Then add a running total (tally) of articles worked on. This tally should include articles that you have evaluated and needed no changes, as well as those that you have re-assessed. It will be the basis for awards. To make it easier to pick up where you leave off, and to avoid edit conflicts, please "adopt a range" in the worklists below.
