How can I contribute to this project
How can I contribute to this project?

No matter how experienced you are, we could use your help! If you're new to Wikipedia, have a look at the following:

  1. Introduction to Wikipedia
  2. How to edit a page
  3. Starting a new page
  4. Wikipedia syntax

If you're looking for something to do, refer to the list of articles. Be on the lookout for tags such as {{cleanup}} and {{unreferenced}} to guide your contributions. If you're a good photographer, then look to see which articles need your photographs.

Are you looking to join the project?

  1. Add your name to the list of participants (optional)
  2. Contribute to an existing article
    1. Consider starting with a topic you are familiar with
    2. Check the list of important articles below that need work!
  3. Start a new article!
    1. Be sure to add {{WikiProject Stanford University}} to the talk page.
  4. Add an image to an article!
    1. Look at project articles for somewhere a picture you've taken might look good.
    2. Image uploading and licensing is difficult, so don't be afraid to ask for help!
    3. If you upload an image you've taken, licensing it under Creative Commons cc-by-2.5 (or a similar license) will reduce the chance that it will be deleted.
      1. cc-by-nc and cc-by-3.0 licenses are considered "unfree";
      2. If you upload an image, you have to swallow the fact that any person or corporation (including the institute) can (and will) use your image.
    4. Add images you upload to Category:Stanford University. If you upload them to Commons, add them to the category on both Commons and Wikipedia. (Yes, you can categorize a Commons image on Wikipedia.)

And remember, provide sources for your edits.

Images and Image Requests

Compiled this list from looking at the groups.... Haven't done Stanford University people or athletics, if anyone wants to help. Please add images to this if you have any. Thanks! ralphamale (talk) 21:40, 23 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

As a current student, I can fulfill many of these requests easily. If you have any more, ask away! (For the ones below, I crossed out things that already have good illustrations or are not suitable for illustration.) King of 05:10, 14 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone help me build out a categories tree? Would appreciate it. ralphamale (talk) 21:03, 5 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Added a tree but it is obvious some work needs to be done. --Erp (talk) 19:55, 29 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
