- Replaceable non-free image Asher196 (talk) 03:30, 3 September 2008 (UTC). (Nomination by User:Asher196 moved here from WP:PUI. Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:47, 3 September 2008 (UTC))
- In the absence of perfected time travel technology, could you elaborate on how you view a 22-year-old screenshot of an actor in character, which is being used to illustrate that character rather than the actor per se, is replaceable? Bearcat (talk) 22:34, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, it isn't a screenshot, it is a promotional photo. And it isn't used in the Pretty in Pick article, either. How does that photo add something significant to the two sentences regarding Pretty in Pink? Is there critical commentary that it enhances? Protonk (talk) 22:56, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
- Under what guideline is this image allowed? From WP:NON-FREE under "Unacceptable use" we find "Pictures of people still alive, groups still active, and buildings still standing; provided that taking a new free picture as a replacement (which is almost always considered possible) would serve the same encyclopedic purpose as the non-free image. This includes non-free promotional images." Additionally, if the rationale for using the image is "Other promotional material", then it must be used for critical commentary, which in the Jon Cryer article, it isn't. - It's not fair to get an image National Geograpic commissioned to illustrate the Battle of Nu'uanu, and use it to illustrate our article about Battle of Nu'uanu. Damiens.rf 16:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Delete - I have free images of that lookout. I think they're on commons, but if not they will be shortly. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 17:38, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Image is not necessary for the understanding of the topic (we don't need to see the director on the set to understand he's a director) WP:NFC#8 Damiens.rf 16:27, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Replaceable image of an existing place WP:NFCC#1. It's unclear why is the image necessary for the article (WP:NFCC#8) Damiens.rf 16:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

- Fails NFCC8, is not described in article, purely decorative (and low quality) image of a fictional depiction of the battle. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 17:24, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Fails NFCC3 & 8. First screenshot in article contains the army on one side, this contains other (this one is nominated only because it was placed last in the article at time of nomination). Not significant and not minimal use. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 17:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Significantly fails NFCC3, joins two other screenshots above which, again, do not demonstrate minimal usage. Not at all necessary in article. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 17:34, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Fails NFCC8, totally unnecessary within the article. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 18:09, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Fails NFCC 2, 3 and 8. Current work, many nonfree images already in article and this one does not significantly enhance reader's understanding. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 18:13, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Same as above. Also very low quality. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 18:16, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Comment: Removed from one of its pages, but please check if the passage in the other, Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri#Graphics, isn't enough of critical discussion to support this one. Fut.Perf. ☼ 10:28, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Withdrawn - I didn't realize the graphics were covered in such detail. This image is useful in that respect and meets NFCC 8. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 23:14, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- Fails NFCC8, fair use image of a fictional world, text will suffice just as well. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 18:19, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- No rationale for use in Mieko Harada, not significant or substantially important to Ran (film). Use in Mieko Harada constitutes nonfree image of a living person. Cumulus Clouds (talk) 18:28, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
