Did you notice that an important female artist is not represented properly on Wikipedia? Or are you an expert on an issue that still lacks a wikipedia entry? If you always wanted to edit a wikipedia article but were unsure how to do it, join us in the Wikipedia editing workshop.
Wikipedia’s gender trouble is well-documented. In a 2011 survey, the Wikimedia Foundation found that less than 13 % of its contributors identify as female. Since then, the numbers have improved only slightly. This workshop aims to change the participation and coverage a of women on the online encyclopedia. You can read about who writes wikipedia here: Wikipedia:Wikipedians.
All levels of editing experience (by female identified and their allies) are welcome! We will start with a basic editing tutorial, and discuss the different rules and terms together. Later on, we can make the first short edits to pages, or draft a new entry and discuss the steps for improvement.
